Alexandra Stewart

Alexandra Stewart is an Infectious Diseases Physician with a strong interest in global health and clinical research. She is a PhD student at the Doherty Institute at the University of Melbourne, under the supervision of Professor James McCarthy (University of Melbourne) and Professor Peter Zimmerman (Case Western Reserve University, USA). Her PhD project will investigate the role of cytochrome polymorphisms in primaquine metabolism for the radical cure of Plasmodium vivax malaria. She aims to become a clinician-researcher and to utilise pharmacogenetics to improve patient outcomes.
