Angelica Tan

Profile

Angelica Tan is a Malaysian scientist based in the Clinical Malaria Group at QIMR Berghofer, with eight years of experience conducting malaria research in Sabah, Malaysia.

She completed her PhD in October 2024 at the Menzies School of Health Research, focusing on improving diagnostic methods for Plasmodium knowlesi, a monkey parasite that is the dominant cause of zoonotic malaria cases across Southeast Asia. Her work also contributes to advancing the understanding of knowlesi malaria pathophysiology, shedding light on inflammatory pathways and their role in disease progression.
