Angelica is a PhD student at the Menzies School of Health Research.
She previously worked with two clinical research organizations in Malaysia, one of which was in collaboration with the malaria research group at the Global and Tropical Health division. She then joined the group formally upon being awarded the CDU-MACC scholarship in 2019. Her research interests include microbial pathogenesis and pathophysiology, particularly tropical infectious diseases. Angelica’s PhD research focuses on Plasmodium knowlesi, the monkey parasite responsible for increasing incidences zoonotic malaria cases in Sabah, Malaysia. Her studies aim to improve and implement innovative diagnostic approaches and advance the understanding of knowlesi malaria pathophysiology. |
