Desmond Gul is a PhD student within the Vector-Borne Diseases and Tropical Public Health group at Burnet Institute. He is supervised by Assoc Prof Leanne Robinson, Assoc Prof Freya Fowkes, Prof Archie Clements and Dr Moses Laman. His project will be looking at utilising mapping and spatial epidemiological tools on malaria indicators to optimise malaria surveillance activity in Papua New Guinea. The aim is to understand the spatial variability of malaria indicators as seen in PNG and how they may be translated into targeted interventions.
