Isobel Walker

Profile

Isobel is a post-doctoral researcher at the Doherty Institute, University of Melbourne, with Prof Stephen Rogerson’s group. Isobel’s PhD and post-doctoral research has focused on identifying measures of protective immunity to severe malaria in children. She aims to understand the targets and functions of antibodies that protect from severe disease during the blood stage of Plasmodium falciparum infection. Within ACREME, Isobel has focused on investigating naturally acquired immunity to severe malaria in children living in high-transmission regions of Papua New Guinea.
