Leanne Robinson

Profile

Dr Leanne Robinson is Head of the Vector Borne Diseases and Tropical Public Health Group in the Disease Elimination Program at the Burnet Institute. Her research focuses on defining key factors that sustain residual malaria transmission and developing new surveillance and intervention strategies to strengthen control and expedite elimination. The nature of her work is highly collaborative and inter-disciplinary, with strong links to endemic country partners and control programs. Leanne has spent the past 10 years living and working in Papua New Guinea and has ongoing appointments with the Papua New Guinea Institute of Medical Research and the Walter and Eliza Hall Institute of Medical Research.

Within ACREME, Leanne will facilitate projects in the surveillance, diagnostics and operational research themes, in particular the ability of new serological tools to detect hidden reservoirs of Plasmodium infections for targeted interventions.
