Liriye is a Postdoctoral Research Officer at the Burnet Institute working in the Malaria Immunity and Vaccines Group led by Prof. James Beeson. She completed a PhD at Monash University, which investigated the functional role of antibody-complement interactions against Plasmodium falciparum sporozoites, and the acquisition of this functional antibody response following natural exposure to malaria and vaccination with the leading RTS,S vaccine. Her work has now expanded to evaluating large RTS,S clinical studies performed in thousands of children, and identifying potential immunological correlates of protection.
