Patrick Abraham

Profile

Patrick Abraham is a PhD candidate at the University of Melbourne and Menzies School of Health Research, supervised by Dr Natalie Carvalho (University of Melbourne), Dr Angela Devine (Menzies), Prof Ric Price (Menzies) and Prof Julie Simpson (University of Melbourne). His project is supporting clinical and implementation trials in malaria endemic settings by determining the costs, cost-effectiveness, and feasibility of these novel interventions. Patrick’s projects span across Vivax and Falciparum malaria, as well as considering the risks and spillover costs malaria interventions may have on other illnesses. This includes economic evaluations of an implementation trial of short course primaquine after G6PD testing for the radical cure of Vivax malaria in Indonesia and Papua New Guinea, and a clinical trial of iron supplementation with malaria chemoprevention in Malawi
