Philippe Boeuf

Profile

Dr Philippe Boeuf obtained his PhD from the Pasteur Institute and the Noguchi Memorial Institute for Medical Research in Accra, Ghana. He identified specific immune profiles underlying severe malarial anaemia and cerebral malaria. In 2005, he joined Prof Stephen Rogerson’s lab and generated seminal data on mechanisms of fetal growth restriction that opens the way to improve outcomes of malaria in pregnancy. Since 2015, he is a senior research officer at the “Disease Elimination” and “Maternal and Child Health” programs at Burnet Institute where he continues his research into the pathogenesis of poor pregnancy outcomes and the immune mechanisms of protection against malaria.

Within ACREME, Philippe works on point-of-contact tests for sero-surveillance, as well as investigating how changing malaria epidemiology impacts on antibody response to malaria.
