Malaria vaccine development and evaluation

Project Description

Ongoing research by ACREME members aims to identify key targets and mechanisms of immunity to malaria to discover and prioritise antigens and strategies for vaccine development. We are also investigating the genetic diversity of leading candidate vaccine antigens in the region to better understand the potential benefit of vaccines in development. We are conducting studies to evaluate immune responses generated by the RTS,S malaria vaccine and other candidate vaccines to guide the development of more effective vaccines and identify correlates of protection for use in vaccine evaluation.
