“The investigation of P. vivax elimination using MDA” Anwar Md Nurul
Plasmodium vivax is one of the most geographically widespread malaria parasites due to its unique ability to remain dormant in the human liver as hypnozoites and subsequently reactivate after the initial infection (i.e. relapse infections). The majority of P. vivax infections are due to hypnozoite reactivation. Hence, targeting the hypnozoite reservoir to achieve P. vivax elimination is crucial.
In this presentation, Anwar will discuss the impact of multiple mass drug administration (MDA) rounds with a radical cure on P. vivax elimination using a multiscale model.
